Haiti Earthquake Of 2010: A Call For Help
Listen, people. Turn on CNN for two minutes if you haven’t yet. For those of you under a rock, a 7.0 earthquake crumbled Haiti yesterday, and there are estimated to be hundreds of thousands of casualties. The country has been pretty much leveled, Red Cross is having trouble keeping medical supply stocked, and the relief effort is far from over. We here at MASHtheMEDIA.com encourage you to do what you can to assist our military and all the legitimate relief foundations out there trying to send aid to Haiti in this time of catastrophe.
Wyclef Jean has released a statement pleading for help via his Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund - a trustworthy foundation originally founded by Clef back in 2005 to provide scholarships to disadvantaged Haitian children that has (since yesterday’s unfortunate events) shifted focus over to the earthquake – which you can easily donate $5 to through your mobile phone bill by texting the word “YELE” to 501501. You can also send a $10 donation via Red Cross by simply texting “HAITI” to 90999. I’m sure there are also plenty of local food/clothes drives in your area as well. If you can spare it, do it. These people need as much help as they can get, and badly…
Americans trying to locate family members in Haiti should contact the State Department at (888) 407-4747.
M.A.S.H Music is also working with various other artists, labels, and promoters in attempts to organize a benefit concert/party to raise money, food, clothes, and supplies for the Haiti relief effort. If you are interested in getting involved or contributing, please don’t hesitate to e-mail me at CreasyReg@gmail.com!
