M.A.S.H Nominated For A 2009 Dub Award!

2009 Dub Awards @ Pyramid in NYC: Sunday, December 27th!

We just wanted to a) inform everybody about an upcoming event that anyone with their ear to the underground should be aware of, and b) take a moment to salute a major pioneering movement who has over the past short year become a very big part in the M.A.S.H Music progress bar. It was brought to our attention recently (shout to Bobby Crillz) that we were nominated in the upcoming 2009 Dub Awards for the “Strongest Crew” category, and we are honored/excited to be a part of this year’s festivities…even if we are up against our good ol’ pal J. Monopoly and the whole Operation Industry Shut Down camp LMAO: who by the way have a new CD dropping tomorrow called “Leaders Of The True School”, so Hip-Hop heads beware. Anyway, respect to the entire EODub family, everybody who supports us and comes to events (or fronts like they will and doesn’t show lol), and same goes for every other artist that is (or isn’t) up for a Dub Award this year! O.R.O. “Innovations” (MASHtheMEDIA Premiere)

Click here to download the entire O.R.O. "Innovations" mixtape in one .zip file!

O.R.O.: Innovations (hosted by DJ Bless)

Today is a special day: not only is it my birthday (*elbow nudge*), but it is also the day MASHtheMEDIA.com finally premieres the debut mixalbum by the upcoming Paterson, NJ rap duo O.R.O. (Only Real Ones). Now, when I say “mixalbum” – as I have used that term in the past – I mean although it’s an independent street-level release that the masses will consider a mixtape, it consists of all original songs and production so I feel the title “album” is a little more appropriate. Hence, the blend.

For those of you who have been following M.A.S.H for the past however long, you know of these guys from performances, MtM webisodes, and et cetera. O.R.O. is made up of two artists: Pure Bandana and Murda Black, both who double as emcees and producers. They’ve rocked EODub with us. They’ve rocked Highline Balloom with us. They even ripped on DJ Lazy K‘s show Street Treats Radio with us. Now, you finally get a formal introduction to the two with the first downloadable offering they bring to the table.

“Innovations”, which is hosted by the energetic voice of DJ Bless, is made up of seventeen full length tracks almost all of which are produced by O.R.O. themselves, and features two brand new tracks with us, M.A.S.H, as well as appearances by B-God and Pain.  The music is dope, the product is exclusive, and the download is free: you cannot go wrong…

01. So Ready (featuring M.A.S.H; co-produced by Shy Boogs)
02. Get It Poppin’
03. Catch Me On The Strip (featuring M.A.S.H)
04. Stop Us Now
05. We Stuntin’
06. Selfish (produced by Tall Ted)
07. We Gon’ Make It
08. No Choice
09. All These Hoes Jock’n (produced by Tall Ted)
10. It Feels So Good (featuring B-God)
11. On Top
12. Good In Life (featuring Pain; produced by Big Ang)
13.  Real 101
14.  What Your Life Like
15.  Anthem
16.  Do You Like That
17.  All I Feel Is Pain

Be there!

Rocksteady 32nd Anniversary Park Jam Recap

This past Sunday, the legendary Rocksteady Crew celebrated their 32nd Anniversary by throwing a free all-day concert in Lincoln Park (Newark, NJ)!  M.A.S.H Music was definitely present in support, as some of hip-hop’s best offerings old or new rocked the stage throughout the course of the day – rain or shine – including Cormega, Tanya Morgan, Dujeous, End of the Weak (who’s Big Zoo and Vice Verses of the 3 Kings hosted the duration of the event), Sean Price of the Boot Camp Clik, Roxanne Shante, and Jeru The Damaja (he killed it), with special appearances by DJ Premier, DJ Eclipse, and Crazy Legs! If you missed this year’s, trust me you do not want to miss next year’s: it’s a great time with great music, food, and positive energy! The show was dope, trust. Check out this video to catch a glimpse of what you missed last weekend…
